Autumn is the perfect season for baking something delicious!
How about a beautiful heart-shaped cake made with smooth vanilla chestnut cream, a touch of buttery richness, and a glossy dark chocolate glaze?
This surprisingly simple recipe is perfect for sharing with family and friends over a warm cup of coffee or tea.
π§ Ingredients
For the cake
- 4 eggs (yolks and whites separated)
- 500 g vanilla chestnut cream
- 150 g softened butter
- 60 g all-purpose flour
For the chocolate glaze
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 40 g butter
- 80 g icing sugar (powdered sugar)
- 2 tablespoons water
π©βπ³ Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 β Whisk the Egg Whites
Separate the egg yolks from the whites.
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Step 2 β Prepare the Cake Batter
In a 2-litre Tupperware Mixing Bowl, combine the vanilla chestnut cream, egg yolks, softened butter, and flour.
Mix thoroughly using the Tupperware Flexible Whisk until smooth and well combined.
Step 3 β Fill the Heart-Shaped Mould
Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cake mixture, taking care to keep the batter light and airy.
Pour the mixture into the Tupperware Multiflex Heart mould, placed on a cold oven rack.
Step 4 β Bake the Cake
Preheat your oven to 180Β°C (356Β°F) using conventional top and bottom heat.
Place the cake on the lower oven shelf and bake for approximately 45 minutes.
Step 5 β Let the Cake Cool
Allow the cake to cool completely before carefully removing it from the silicone mould.
Step 6 β Melt the Chocolate
Break the dark chocolate into pieces and place them in the 1-litre Tupperware MicroCook Jug together with the butter.
Microwave for approximately 2 minutes at 360 watts.
Leave to rest for 1 minute, then stir thoroughly.
If necessary, continue heating in 30-second intervals at 360 watts until completely melted.
Step 7 β Prepare the Chocolate Glaze
Add the icing sugar to the fully melted chocolate mixture and stir. The mixture will initially become grainy.
Gradually add the water while stirring until you achieve a smooth, glossy chocolate glaze.
Step 8 β Decorate Your Cake
Pour the chocolate glaze over the completely cooled cake.
Leave it on a wire rack for approximately 30 minutes to allow the glaze to set slightly.
Decorate as desired with little sugar hearts, chocolate decorations, or your favourite finishing touches.
β€οΈ Time to Enjoy!
This delicious chestnut cake is a wonderful autumn treat, but itβs equally delightful at any time of year.
Serve with coffee, tea, or as a special dessert for someone you love.
